Current Impact Flux at Mars Discoveries of over 200 fresh, dated impact sites on Mars allow us to measure the current impact rate and validate cratering chronology models. We can also use well-constrained formation dates of these craters to investigate any possible enhancement in asteroid bombardment at aphelion, when Mars is closer to the main asteroid belt. I.J. Effect of Sun elevation on crater counts on Phobos When the Sun is high the old craters are not seen, and when the angle between the Sun and horizon is low the most part of the surface is covered by a shadow. Extension of the existing meteor models to the Martian atmosphere We present review of the existing meteoroid models describing their entry into an atmosphere. As an application, we discuss how to derive meteoroid mass and other properties from the observed deceleration rate. Исследование тонкой структуры радиантов крупных метеорных потоков второго полугодия. В работе представлены результаты обработки по специально разработанной методике более 3,5 тыс. метеоров, зарегистрированных в 2006 г. на камере FAVOR с высокой проницающей силой. Данная методика позволяет, в частности, при наличии большого количества метеоров, отождествленных с тем или иным потоком, получить не только точное значение координат радианта данного потока, но и некоторое представление о тонкой структуре радианта, например, значения положений субрадиантов, измеренных по метеорам разных яркостей. Приводится анализ нескольких крупных метеорных потоков, для которых на основе большого статистического материала были построены распределения по датам для ярких и слабых метеоров. Леонов В.А.

Meteoroid fragmentation in the Martian atmosphere Data on terrestrial bolides with detail observational data demonstrated that that most of the corresponding meteoroids are very weak when they hit the top of atmosphere. The cause may be that most meteoroids (even at meter scale) may be highly fractured by previous collisions, or even rubble pile structures. The measured low strength suggest easy breakup in Mars atmosphere for many meteoroids, the altitudes of breakup in the Martian atmosphere are estimated. Popova O.
